The inappropriately titled “Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005” (“BAPCPA”) created a lot of change to our bankruptcy system. Most of the changes took effect October 17, 2005. One thing BAPCPA DID NOT DO was eliminate bankruptcy. 95% of the clients we have seen since October 17th have learned they can land on their feet just like under the old law, they just have to do a little extra to get to where they want to be.
If anything, BAPCPA made bankruptcy a bit more complicated such that it is even more important to have an experienced attorney guide one through the process. |
A Message from Adam Schachter:
Since 1999, I have practiced exclusively in the areas of consumer and small business bankruptcy and other debt related law.
During this time, every work day was devoted to helping families and small businesses get back on their feet. My clients come to me in extraordinary pain and leave with a strong sense of relief due to my personal attention to their situation and understanding of their needs.
